Black mould treatment
Black mould eradication is a three stage process. The first stage involves washing and sterilising the affected area and the removal of any contaminated wallpaper. The second part of the treatment involves using a product which contains a penetrating inorganic biocide designed to kill off the 'roots' of the mould thereby preventing re-growth. The final step is to Paint the area using a specialist paint which contains a long lasting biocide. The process has been proven over many years to provide effective resistance to mould growth.
Black mould control
After we have eradicated your black mould problem. You should take measures to make sure it does not return. The long-term prevention of mould is only possible by effective environmental control. "ensuring that conditions are unsuitable for growth". The use of chemical fungicides while successful in the short term does not address the underlying problem of poor environmental control.
Purchasing a Hygrometer for measuring Relative Humidity and air temperature is the first step. This vital tool will allow you to prevent Mould growth by either regulating the heating and ventilation, or by adjusting your Dehumidifier. Low relative humidity Below 70% to reduce the equilibrium moisture content of materials to a level where fungi cannot grow. Low temperatures Below 10ºC inhibits spore germination and slows growth.
