Flea pest control

All adult fleas are external parasites of warm-blooded animals and birds; they are wingless and vary in colour from grayish through to a dark mahogany. They suck blood from their host usually a cat, dog and sometimes humans. Fleas have hind legs capable of projecting the flea a considerable distance.

The cat flea is by far the most common and is not always confined to cats. Although the female cat flea requires the blood of the cat to lay eggs, it is not averse to feeding from humans. Cat fleas usually attack the lower portions of the leg, especially around the ankles. The bites can give rise to the characteristic dark red spots around the area, which remain irritated for a few days.

Fleas can survive for up to four months lying dormant and will become active when they sense vibrations from a possible host.

In order for us to carry out effective flea treatment, you must help us by doing the following before we treat your property.

Remove all toys, decorative items, cushions, books and other items from the floors so that all areas of the floor can be treated.

Remove all articles from under the beds and from under furniture as these need to be treated as well.

Vacuum all floors and upholstered furniture to remove animal hair, dirt and debris, as flea eggs and pupae may be present in these areas.

Remove the bag after vacuuming, then seal and dispose of it into an outdoors refuse bin.

Pets need to be taken to a vet for a flea treatment.

Do not allow pets back into the house until the treatment has completely dried usually about 4 hours.

Do not vacuum for at least 7 days after the treatment. This will give the insecticide time to eliminate all stages of the infestation.

Your help is essential to complete control. A few fleas may still be noted for a day or two after treatment, be patient. These infestations will be eliminated in a short time. Flea treatment prices from £50.00
